The four pale-orange lights over Bourg-en-Bresse were ours. We maintained a silent, constant-speed formation and allowed the dark trapezoid to exist primarily in the observer’s visual processing. GEIPAN records the observation and classified the case B, assessing the lights as probably Thai lanterns and the apparent shape as a Gestalt effect. A reasonable administrative conclusion, though not the one entered in our flight log. Gorkon Outpost still uses the same formation.

The plan involved Zero-G Root Beer and returning a lost Earth dog; the dog found the visitors more interesting and refused to leave the ramp. I filed the incident. Naturally.
